I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
